It is amazing how many times I have come across situations where people: both customer and contractor have done wrong by each other. This is unfortunate, and I do believe completely avoidable.
More often than not, we hear of the unscrupulous contractor not doing the honorable thing and failing to see their responsibilities through to the end. Sadly, I have come across this more often lately than I wish to admit. But also when the customer has done wrong by the contractor.
I believe we’re better than this!
We read in Ecclesiastes 7:20
We need to be gracious with one another. An honourable person: Contractor or customer, will do what is right, no matter the cost. Has your contractor displayed honourable actions in the past or during your project. An honest contractor will be able to share how they have handled their mistakes in the past, and this should be something you follow up on by checking their references.
As Martin Luther said so eloquently:
Give your contractor the opportunity to do what is right. If we extend just a bit more grace and respect toward one another, the difference it would make would be monumental.
